What is Fraud Protect?

Fraud Protect is a complimentary service offered for your protection and convenience. With Fraud Protect, you are notified when fraudulent activity has been detected on your Citi Prepaid card via text message. In the event of a lost or stolen card, you can be sure your card balance stays protected. Fraud Protect is not marketing spam - it is only used to communicate important, need-to-know information regarding your card and is part of Citi's commitment to deliver the highest quality of service.

How do I enroll in Fraud Protect?

Enrolling in Fraud Protect is an option that is presented during the card activation process. By activating your card via text message, you are automatically enrolled in Fraud Protect. If you wish to activate your card without enrolling you may call the number on the activation sticker and follow the prompts.

What happens when I enroll in Fraud Protect?

When you enroll in Fraud Protect, you are turning on an extra level of protection on your Citi Prepaid card. In the event that Citi needs to notify you if fraud has been detected on your card or when there are important service updates, you will be notified via text message.

What are the benefits of Fraud Protect?

Fraud Protect ensures that you receive critical information regarding your prepaid card when it matters most. Even greater, with Fraud Protect you can be sure that your full card balance is always protected. You never have to worry about a lost or stolen card again.

Can I opt out of Fraud Protect?

Yes. You are in complete control, which means you can stop Fraud Protect at any time. Just text STOP to 88123.

How many mobile alerts will I receive?

You will only receive alerts when there is important need-to-know information regarding your account.

Am I charged for the mobile alerts?

No. Citi does not charge for this service. However, depending on your mobile plan, message and data rates may apply.

Lost or Stolen:
In the event your card is lost or stolen, your funds will stay protected with Visa's® Zero Liability fraud protection. Please notify Citi immediately at (866) 326-8689 if this occurs.
